18 September Singapore
Arrived into a fast, busy, hot and super humid Singapore after a reasonably good Singapore airlines flight. I decided that I wasn’t sweating enough so jumped into a stinking hot plate of schezuan chicken which required quite a few beers to keep it down.
I wish I wasn’t such a tightarse and had booked a hotel with a pool.
19 September Singapore
So, no breakfast at the hotel so headed off to Arab street for a mutarbak and biryani. We wandered aimlessly around the area, scurrying from shady spot to shady spot, sweating our rings out.
I wish we had a pool at our hotel to go back to.
Finished off our day at an isakaya in Chinatown
20 September Singapore
With humidity sitting at around 227% we ventured out to have a look around Fort Canning, greatly appreciating the outdoor escalators installed to assist getting to the top of the hill.
By the time the rain came, we were already completely soaked through with sweat.
We found a cafe with air conditioning and ordered cool drinks.
We decided that walking around Singapore has bones in it and spent the hour or two cruising the MRT system to the end of one of the lines to Woodlands North to stare vacantly across the strait to Malaysia. The MRT is air conditioned.
I wish I had booked a hotel with a pool.
Had a stinking hot chilli beef for dinner so I think everyone in PE will be enjoying it with me tonight.
Packed and MRT’d to the airport.
21 September Zurich/Weil Am Rhein
After a reasonably pleasant flight, we were met at airport by Beat and Barb who put coffee in us then took us to visit the Rhein falls followed by a terrific lunch.
After saying our goodbyes, we caught a couple of trains and made it to Weil Am Rhein in the late arvo.
Beat advised me that the best way to cure jet lag is the liberal application of beer until you reach the appropriate bed time for the location.
Worth a try? Slipped into a few beers with a pizza assist and made it to 9PM.
Win!
22 September Weil Am Rhein
Walked a couple of kilometres and found a bar beside Rhein for afternoon drinkies with France across the water.
Went out for a traditional German Cordon Bleu for dinner.
Made it to 9PM…..just
23 September Weil Am Rhein
Picked up pushie.
Finally got a snag into Kathy.
Felt like jet lag was catching up with me again so back for more beer and pizza. Did the trick.
24 September
Took pushie out for a test run.
Drank too much at the local.
Got a cramp.
